Thankyou for finding the Tigh na Sgeiran ( House by the Reef) website.
We offer a warm and comfortable stay in either our newly furbished double, ground floor room or twin bedded upstairs room – both giving relaxing and interesting sea views over Lochindaal, just 200 metres away.
We wish your Hebridean holiday to be a memorable experience and hope that our homely atmosphere with tea and pancakes served on arrival and a new comfortable bed at the end of the day can contribute to this.
Our cosy centrally heated and double glazed house is conveniently located on the Right hand side shortly before you enter the whisky village of Bruichladdich. We overlook the shore of Lochindaal where you can watch wading birds and our resident seal who has his chosen rock on the small reef from which the house takes its name. There is private parking to the front of the house and a spacious garden to the side and rear for you to enjoy. Both bedrooms have Freeview tv, hot drink facilities and WiFi. The double room has a spacious en suite shower room and the upstairs twin room has a large private bath / shower room adjacent.
A delicious breakfast is served in the heated conservatory to the rear of the house. Fruit, yoghurt, cereals and freshly made bread and preserves are offered, along with your choice of tea or French coffee. A traditional Scottish breakfast can be cooked to order. The pretty village of Port Charlotte is only a 5 minute drive should you fancy a good meal and a quiet drink in the evening.
Bicycles can be safely stored in the garage, or, if on foot, the bus route passes the house. We may be able to collect guests from the ferry / airport if necessary. A small collection of novels and some books of local interest and a selection of board games may be borrowed freely.
